How to use Lavilin Underarm Deodorant Cream

Ready to start your war on body odour? Using Lavilin is a new way of doing your deodorant routine. Learn how to use your Lavilin deodorant for maximum effectiveness. We’re glad you found us and your armpits will thank you.

Make the most of Lavilin

Put on your Lavilin tonight after a shower where you have washed the underarm area and towel-dried well. You may need another repeat for the next evening and then see how long you last before the BO starts again.

While most people’s skin bacteria respond straight away to Lavilin, some need a longer settling-in period, regardless of whether you have been using an aluminium-based or non-aluminium deodorant.  As the skin heals or readjusts from previous deodorant can be a time when the BO-causing bacteria go a bit nuts.  You have 2 options

  1. One method is to refrain from using other deodorants for 48 hours eg. over a weekend, to allow the previous products to be removed from your skin.  Then on Sunday night, Lavilin is applied in the evening after a shower where you have washed the underarm area and towel-dried well.
  2. If you don’t have time for detoxing then just put it on tonight after a shower then again tomorrow night after a shower and see how long you last.

Use your finger or the spatula provided to smear a small raindrop-sized smudge of Lavilin Underarm Deodorant Cream. Remember, less is more. Spread gently in the centre of each underarm and off you go and see how long you last.

Re-apply Lavilin only when odour reappears.  If you start to get body odour, just apply Lavilin (even without a shower in an emergency) and it will murder the smell. Ongoing application should ideally be after an evening shower for greatest effectiveness. The body temperature is lower and the sweating is less, having more of a chance to work on those BO-bacteria. People last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. How long can you go?

Extended settling in time

Lavilin works first go for most people but everyone has a different settling-in time. You may need to give it a few days to weeks of every-day use before you get the full force of Lavilin Odour Protection.

If you’ve been using a ‘natural’ deodorant that contains bicarb soda / sodium bicarbonate, your skin may need a recovery time to be restored to its normal pH. Wash armpits thoroughly and regularly with water and switch to gentle, soap-free cream or oil-based cleansers / body wash. Choose ones with barrier-repairing ingredients that cleanse the skin without destroying the protective acid layer. Recovery of your skin depends on how much damage there is from prolonged use of the abrasive and harsh chemical.

If at first Lavilin is not working for you, apply daily until you can start to stretch it out. Please contact us if you need more troubleshooting. We will do all we can to help you get it working for you!

Sensitivity

Don’t apply if you have a known sensitivity to any of the ingredients listed below. As with any new skin product, it’s best to do a patch test on the back of your hand or inside wrist to check for any skin sensitivity before using.

It’s best not to apply right after shaving or to areas of broken skin.

Lavilin is just as effective on unshaven armpits – no need to shave if it’s not your thing.
